FAQ

What is a favicon checker?

It loads a website and reports which favicon and app-icon files it actually serves: favicon.ico, each PNG size, the apple-touch-icon and the manifest icons, with a clear pass or fail on each. Faster than squinting at a browser tab.

How do I test if my favicon is working?

Paste your URL above and run the check. It reads the live page and lists every icon tag with the file it resolves to and whether it loaded. Green means the browser found a real image at that path; red means the link points at nothing.

Why does my favicon show on desktop but not on iPhone?

iOS ignores the small favicon and looks for a 180x180 apple-touch-icon. If that file is missing, Safari falls back to a screenshot of the page. The checker calls this out so you add the apple-touch-icon instead of chasing the wrong bug.

Is this favicon checker free?

Yes. Checking a site is free, needs no sign-up, and runs as many times as you like. Generating the missing icons from a single image is free too.

The check says my favicon is fine but I still see the old one.

That's a cache, not a missing file. Browsers hold onto favicons hard and often ignore a refresh. Open the page in a private window or another browser. If the checker shows a 200 on the right file, the deploy is correct.
